1 Km per hour

Title describes nearly the speed of cab for the large portion of my journey time each night from work to home. This has been the lingering effect post the dreadful act that happened on 16th Dec evening in Delhi. Many Delhites think that administration is over-tightening what they have left lose from a long time. But this had made Delhi ponder if this is an effective way, in-fact is it even a 'way' at all.

If you have not deduced what the rubbish I'm talking about, then in simple words-this is a thought about over-barricaded Delhi roads at night. Many Delhites curse traffic and the people responsible for the same; many other ponder if this thing even works but few of them stop thinking the instant they cross the barricade; barricade is a very simple thing that threatens bad people and frustrates normal people.

Does our administration even go by the cause-effect model or just use the thing which they find 'easy'? If you come to think of it - what would be gained of placing barriers at the same location each night? Would not the one thinking of making crimes be aware about where and where not he would be caught. Even if you are seeing last horrible incident in Delhi for facts; commercial bus driver was involved, who would be well versed about in and out of the roads.

To top that certain barriers are present, and doing job of slowing the speed to almost zero but they are unattended by any person to check vehicles. How are they supposed to help? By creating traffic jam? So that the driver of a car/vehicle can inform of any misdoing in the neighboring vehicle?

To my simple mind this solution does not ring a bell, does it to yours?
